What is IoT? The Internet of Things (IoT) refers to the network of physical and digital objects that communicate and interact through the internet. This technology enables the collection, analysis, and execution of actions based on data in real-time.

Why IoT? IoT drives digital transformation by enabling efficiency improvements, enhanced decision-making, and new business models across various sectors. It lays the groundwork for smart applications in areas like smart homes, Industry 4.0, and smart cities.

The three IoT components:

  1. Sensors/Devices: Collect data from the environment.
  2. Connectivity: Transmit data to cloud services or other devices.
  3. Data Processing: Analyze data and perform actions.

Application: IoT is applied in process automation and monitoring, predictive maintenance, energy management, and personalized customer engagement.
