Supply chain management, or SCM for short, refers to the monitoring and control of materials, information and finances along the entire supply chain - from the supplier to the manufacturer, wholesaler and retailer through to the end consumer. This discipline encompasses the coordination and integration of these flows both within a company and between different companies.
The aim of SCM is to increase efficiency, reduce costs and optimize supply processes in order to ensure smooth supply and high customer satisfaction.
