DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025

DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 is an international standard that specifies the general requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. It was developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in cooperation with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).

The standard specifies requirements for the technical competence, quality assurance and management of laboratories to ensure that the tests and calibrations performed are reliable, accurate and traceable. This includes, among other things

Personnel competence: laboratories must have qualified personnel who have the necessary technical knowledge and skills to carry out the testing and calibration activities.

Measurement uncertainty: The standard requires the assessment and documentation of measurement uncertainty to ensure that the accuracy of the measurement results is adequately considered.

Quality assurance: Laboratories must implement quality management systems to ensure that their processes are controlled and monitored and that the quality of their results is assured.

Compliance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 enables laboratories to ensure the reliability and traceability of their test and calibration results. The standard is used by laboratories worldwide operating in various industries, including healthcare, food, environmental analysis, automotive and materials testing.
